Calendar (Google, Outlook)
Connect your work calendar so Brev's meeting agent can join, transcribe, and recap your recurring meetings.
Connecting your calendar is the single most useful integration in Brev. It's what lets the meeting agent show up to your meetings, take notes, and turn them into goal updates and action items afterwards. Most people set this up during onboarding, but you can do it any time.
Supported calendars #
- Google Calendar: for Google Workspace accounts. Most common.
- Outlook (Microsoft 365): for Microsoft Exchange / Outlook Web accounts.
How to connect #
- Open the Meeting Agent cardIn Settings, Integrations, click Connect on the Meeting Agent card in the Essentials section. You can also connect from Meeting agent settings.
- Pick Google or OutlookThe dialog offers Connect Google Calendar and Connect Outlook Calendar. Click the one that matches your work account. You'll be redirected to Google or Microsoft to sign in.
- Approve the permissionsBrev asks to read your calendar events, see your meeting attendees, and get a notification when events are added or moved. On Outlook, Brev can also create an event, but only a meeting you asked it to book, and only after you've picked the time. It never edits or deletes anything already on your calendar.
- You'll be brought back to BrevYou land on Meeting agent settings, and Brev starts importing your events. Each recurring meeting becomes a cadence on the Cadences page on its own, usually within a few minutes. Back on Integrations, the Meeting Agent card shows a green check and a Go to settings button.
If you belong to more than one organization, your meetings are captured in one of them at a time, whether through your calendar, Granola or Notion. Connecting a calendar in a second organization is refused, with the name of the one that already captures, until you disconnect your calendar or pause capture there. If you rejoin an organization where your calendar is still connected, it stays connected but paused, and AI Meeting Agent settings show it as paused with a Resume button. See If you belong to more than one organization.
Where the data appears #
- Cadences: each recurring meeting on your calendar becomes a cadence on the Cadences page as your calendar syncs. There's nothing to accept first.
- Auto-join: if you've enabled the meeting agent for a cadence, Brev joins those occurrences automatically. The agent shows up a minute or two before the meeting starts.
- Event detail pages: each cadence occurrence has its own page with the agenda, transcript, and AI recap. Linked from the cadence row.
- Inbox: meeting recaps land here after the agent posts its summary.
Asking Brev to book a meeting #
If you're on Outlook, you can ask Brev to set up a meeting for you, in a DM to the Brev bot on Slack or Teams, or in chat in the app. Say who you want to meet and for how long, and Brev checks everyone's calendar and comes back with a few times that work. Pick one and it creates the event and sends the invitations.
- Pick a specific time or slot number. 'Yes' on its own isn't enough. Brev won't guess which time you meant.
- The times Brev offers are good for about five minutes. After that it looks again rather than booking something that may have filled up.
- If Brev can't see someone's calendar, it says so and offers nothing, rather than handing you times that only work for the people it could check.
- Outlook only, and only colleagues in the same Microsoft tenant. Google Calendar can't do this yet.
- By direct message only. Ask in a shared channel and Brev declines. Finding a time means showing people's availability to whoever is in the room.
How often it refreshes #
- Calendar changes (added events, moved meetings, cancellations) push to Brev in near real time via Google / Microsoft notification subscriptions.
- If you connect for the first time, Brev imports the last 30 days of events and the next 60 days of upcoming events on first sync.
- Meeting transcripts arrive within a few minutes of the call ending; the AI recap follows about a minute later.
Common issues #
- The bot didn't join my meeting
- Check that the cadence has auto-join enabled (Cadences → row → Edit). If the meeting was rescheduled less than 10 minutes before start, Brev may have missed the change. Restart the call or invite Brev manually via the join button.
- My meeting doesn't show up as a cadence
- Only recurring meetings become cadences. A one-off event doesn't become one on its own.
- Permission revoked / warning triangle
- Click Reconnect on the Meeting Agent card. You'll re-authorize Google / Microsoft, and the auto-join schedule picks back up on your next meeting.
