Granola

Connect Granola to bring your meeting notes and transcripts into Brev, linked to the matching meetings.

Granola is an AI meeting-notes app. Connect it to pull your meeting transcripts and summaries into Brev, where each meeting is linked to the matching one in Brev and feeds the same recaps, chapters, and goal alignment as Brev's own meeting capture. On a linked meeting's Overview a small source badge shows the recap came from Granola; if Brev's own notetaker also recorded the meeting, the notetaker recording is shown as the primary and the page notes it was "also recorded in Granola". If you turn the meeting agent off for a meeting, Brev skips its Granola recap too, so the agent toggle is a single switch for keeping a meeting out of Brev.

Before you start #

  • Connect your own account: Granola's API is per-person, so each teammate connects Granola with their own API key.
  • Business or Enterprise plan: pulling transcripts through Granola's API requires a Granola Business or Enterprise plan. On lower plans the key connects but no transcripts come through.

How to connect #

  1. 1
Create an API key in Granola
In the Granola desktop app, open Settings → Connectors → API keys and create a key. Copy it.
  2. 2
    Open Brev's integrations
Go to Settings → Integrations and find the Granola card.
  3. 3
    Paste the key
Click Connect, paste your Granola API key, and submit. Brev validates the key with Granola on the spot and tells you if it's rejected or your plan doesn't include API transcript access. Once it's accepted, Brev takes you straight to Folder sync so you can choose which folders to include.
  4. 4
Brev syncs new meetings going forward
After you connect, Brev checks Granola every hour and brings in meetings from that point onward. It doesn't import your past meeting history, so connecting never triggers a burst of notifications for old meetings. Each new meeting arrives with its transcript, summary, and chapters for search and goal tracking. Brev doesn't send its own recap email or Slack message for Granola meetings. You already have those in Granola; Brev recaps are reserved for meetings its own Notetaker captures.

Where the data appears #

Granola meetings are matched to the corresponding meeting in Cadences when Brev already knows about that calendar event. They show up with the same transcript, recap, and chapters as any other meeting. A Granola meeting that doesn't match anything in Brev is kept private to you; your teammates won't see it.

Control which folders sync #

By default Brev syncs every Granola meeting you can access. If some meetings shouldn't be in Brev (compensation talks, leadership 1:1s), group them into a Granola folder and tell Brev to skip it. This is per-person: it only affects the meetings you bring in through your own Granola.

  1. 1
    Open your connected Granola integration
Go to Settings → Integrations and click Edit on the Granola card in the Connected section. Folder sync opens straight away.
  2. 2
    Pick how folders are used
Choose Sync all meetings (the default), Sync all except selected folders, or Only sync selected folders.
  3. 3
    Choose folders and save
Under Folders to exclude (or Folders to sync), tick the folders, then click Save. A "Granola folder sync updated" message confirms it, and the dialog closes. Changes apply to meetings synced from then on. Cancel or the back arrow closes the dialog without saving.
Two things to know
Brev loads your Granola folders live, so they're ready to pick as soon as you connect, including brand-new folders. And this controls what's pulled going forward. Meetings already in Brev stay until they're removed.

How often it refreshes #

Brev checks Granola once an hour for new or updated meetings. One thing to know: Granola can be set to auto-delete transcripts after a while (as little as a day). Once a transcript is deleted in Granola, Brev can no longer pull it, though the meeting summary is kept.

Granola Business/Enterprise required for transcripts
If transcripts aren't appearing after connecting, check that your Granola workspace is on a Business or Enterprise plan. API transcript access isn't available on lower tiers.
