Profile
Your profile, Appearance (when dark mode is on for you), Log out and Mock user, plus how to get around Settings, including on a phone. Notifications, MCP, API keys and the CLI each have their own sidebar entry.
Profile is the first entry in the Settings → Personal sidebar group. The page route is /settings/user. Subtitle: 'Manage your profile and account settings'. Nothing on it has a Save button: a text field saves when you press Enter or click away, and a picker saves when you choose. Sections render in this order:
/settings/notifications) and MCP (/settings/mcp).Basic information #
- First name and Last name: at least 2 characters, at most 100. A shorter value shows an error under the field and is not saved.
- Email: your sign-in email, read-only.
- Profile picture: JPG, PNG or GIF, max 5 MB. Hover your picture and click it to upload, crop the image, then Save. The trash button next to it removes the picture. Until you upload one, Brev uses your Google account photo if you sign in with Google, refreshed each time you sign in; a picture you upload always wins. With neither, it falls back to your initials.
Professional information #
- Role: Sales, Product, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, Leadership, Finance, Success or People. Used by the AI when it suggests goals and views.
- Job title: free text (e.g. 'Senior Product Manager'), up to 200 characters. Your job title shows in the header of your profile page, and so does your role while you are on no team.
- If your organization syncs a field from its directory, that field shows a lock icon and is read-only here. Ask your admin to change it in your identity provider.
Appearance #
Choose System, Light or Dark in Profile → Appearance. The account menu has a single Dark mode / Light mode switch, and pressing D anywhere outside a text field does the same. System is the default and follows changes to your device’s appearance. An explicit Light or Dark choice overrides the system and is remembered in this browser; choose System to follow your device again. The login and onboarding pages always stay light.
Account actions #
Session → Logout signs you out and returns you to the login page. Log out in the Account menu (bottom-left of the main sidebar) does the same.
Getting around Settings #
Open Settings from the Account menu at the bottom-left of the main sidebar (it opens Profile), or from the Settings row in the main sidebar, which opens Workspace → General for org admins and Profile for everyone else. Settings swaps the main sidebar for its own, grouped as Personal, Workspace, Goals, AI & agents, Features and Security. The Goals group is named after your organization's framework (see Terminology). You only see the rows your role allows: members see Personal, plus the rows their workspace gives everyone, and Security appears only for admins of an organization that has Audit logs or SSO turned on. See Roles & permissions. Back to app at the top of the rail returns you to the page you came from.
Known issue: the organization's owner currently lands on Profile from the Settings row, not on General. Pick General from the Workspace group.
Search settings at the top of the rail filters the navigation in place. It matches page names and the names of settings inside those pages, and lists the matching setting under its page. With no match it says 'No settings match' and repeats your search; the clear button restores the full navigation. Shift+Command+P on macOS or Ctrl+Shift+P elsewhere focuses the field.
On a phone #
On a narrow screen the rail is hidden and a bar runs across the top of every settings page instead. Its menu button, Open settings navigation, slides the same rail in from the left, with the same rows your role sees on a computer, plus Back to app and the search box. Choosing a row opens that page and closes the rail. Close, Escape or a tap outside the rail closes it without moving. The bar also has a Help & support button.
