Notifications

Email, chat (Slack and Teams) and Daily briefing notification preferences, action reminders where your workspace has them, plus whether Brev may file a check-in in your name.

Open in app
core
Settings > Notifications with the email, Slack and daily briefing switches.

Notifications is a per-user entry in the Settings → Personal sidebar group, split out of Profile. The page route is /settings/notifications.

Email notifications #

  • Weekly digest: summary of your team's goals and progress.
  • Check-in reminders: per the org-wide schedule.
  • Meeting recap: emailed after transcript processing.
  • Mentions: emailed when a person @-mentions you in a comment, check-in, or note; names written by Brev's AI render as chips but never email you.
  • Integration alerts: emailed when a connected integration (calendar, Slack, …) needs to be reconnected.

Every switch defaults to on. Turn one off to stop that channel for that notification type. A switch saves the moment you flip it, with no message; if the save fails it flips back. Email and chat notifications only go out while your organization has credit left (see Billing).

Slack notifications #

Meeting recap and Mentions as a direct message in chat. Despite the heading, these two switches also decide whether recaps and mentions reach you in Microsoft Teams. They can only be changed while your workspace's Slack App is connected; until then they are greyed out with the note 'Connect your Slack app in Integrations settings to enable this feature' (Integrations is under Settings → Personal).

Daily briefing #

Daily briefing: your weekday morning message on Slack or Teams. It sits in its own block so it stays switchable whether or not Slack is connected, which keeps it within reach for a workspace that only uses Teams. Until you set it, it follows your chat check-in reminder setting, so it reads as on by default. It is separate from the email Check-in reminders switch above.

If your Slack coworker sends you its own daily brief, that brief takes the place of the morning message, and this same switch turns it off: switched off, you get neither. See AI coworkers.

Automatic check-ins #

Let Brev check in for me: whether Brev may file a check-in in your name. Nothing is delivered by it: Brev can draft a check-in from your goal's activity and, once filing is switched on, file that draft for you if nobody answers by the deadline shown on the draft. This switch is how you decline that in advance. Until you set it here, it simply follows your Check-in reminders setting, so it reads as on by default, and as off if you had already switched those reminders off. Set it here and it stops following them and keeps whatever you chose. Filing is not enabled for any organization yet, so nothing is being written in your name today. The drafts keep arriving either way; Brev just stops filing them. See Check In for what a Brev-written check-in looks like and when Brev backs off on its own.
