Member settings
All members: invite people (optionally onto a team, even a brand-new one), resend invitations, change org roles and status, and manage each member's job title and teams. Admins and owners only.
Settings → Workspace → Members opens All members: 'Everyone in your workspace, their role, and pending invitations'. It is for org admins and owners; anyone else does not see the row, and opening the address sends them back to the app. The green Invite member button is top-right, with the member table below. Domain verification, SSO and directory sync live under Settings → Security → Identity & access, for organizations that have them.
Inviting members #
- Click Invite memberOpens the 'Add new member' dialog.
- Enter the invitee's emailUse a work address: personal email providers and throwaway domains are refused. Someone who is already in your organization is refused too.
- Pick a roleMember is the default; you can also choose Admin, Observer or Guest. A Guest sees only what is explicitly shared with them, read-only, sees only themselves in the member list, cannot invite anyone, and gets no weekly digest. Only admins and owners can choose Guest. Owner is never offered here: an organization has one owner, and ownership only moves by transfer (see below). See Roles & permissions.
- (Optional) Pick a teamThe Team picker reads 'No Team' until you choose one. The invitee joins that team as a Member straight away and shows on its member list while their invitation is pending, so they already belong to it when they accept. If the invitation is declined, they come off the team too. You can change their teams any time.
- Choose Invite or Provision ModeInvite (the default) sends an invitation email. Provision Mode adds the person without one ('Don't send an invitation email'): they become active the first time they sign in.
- Click Add MemberYou see 'Invitation sent successfully' or, in Provision Mode, 'User added successfully'. The invitee appears with status Pending. The table opens on the Active tab, so look under Pending invitation or All.
Creating a team while you invite #
If the team you want does not exist yet, type its name into the Team picker's search box. When nothing matches (ignoring case) and you have typed at least 2 characters, the list ends with Create team "<name>". Choose it and Brev creates the team with you as its owner, says 'Team "<name>" created', and selects it for this invitation, so Add Member seats the invitee on the new team. Team names can be up to 100 characters. Give the team a description and parent later from Team settings.
Sending invitations again #
- One person: on a Pending row, open the ⋯ menu and choose Send invitation.
- Everyone pending: Send N invites, above the table, emails every pending invitation at once. Useful after a launch announcement or before a deadline.
- A few people: tick their rows and choose Send invitation again in the bar that appears.
- Known issue: Send N invites counts people you added in Provision Mode, who are never emailed, so the confirmation can name fewer people than the button did. If the only pending people were provisioned, it reports that there are no pending members.
Member table #
- Status tabs across the top: All, Active, Pending invitation and Inactive, each with a count. The page opens on Active.
- A 'Search for members' box (matching name, email or job title) and a Role filter (All roles, Org Owner, Org Admin, Org Member, Org Observer, Org Guest). The two combine with the status tab.
- Columns: Name (with the email under it), Job Title, Teams, Org Role, Usage profile (Owners and Admins only), Status and Joined. Click a column name to sort by it.
- Job Title is edited from the Manage member dialog, not in the table. See below.
- Org Role pills: Org Owner / Org Admin / Org Member / Org Observer / Org Guest. Status pills: Active (green) / Pending (amber) / Inactive (red).
- Teams column: hover a member's teams to preview the full list and their role in each; click it (or use ⋯ → Manage member) to open the Manage member dialog.
- Rows with a Pending status are invitations not yet accepted. They show no name unless one was given when they were invited (for example by asking Operator to add 'Dana Reyes, [email protected]').
Changing a member's usage profile #
Owners and Admins see a Usage profile column. Pick Standard, Power or Restricted from an active member's pill and it applies from their next request. Observers and Guests show a dash, since they can't run the agent, and so do pending and inactive members. See Usage profiles for what each profile allows.
Changing a member's role or status #
Change a role with the member's Org Role pill: pick Org Member, Org Admin or Org Guest, and it applies at once. A member made a Guest loses everything not shared with them directly on their next page load. Observer cannot be chosen here; to have an Observer, invite the person as one. You cannot change your own role or status. See Roles & permissions for what each role can do.
Only the owner sees Org Owner in the pill. Choosing it on another member opens 'Transfer Organization Ownership', which spells out that they get full control, you lose owner privileges, only they can transfer it again, and you become an Admin. Transfer Ownership completes it.
The ⋯ menu at the end of each row holds Manage member, Send invitation (Pending rows), Deactivate user (Active rows) and Reactivate user (Inactive rows), plus View as where your organization has it. The Status pill changes status too, and ticking several rows offers Deactivate users or Reactivate users in the bar that appears. There is no way to remove someone from the organization entirely; deactivate them instead.
- Deactivate user
- Applies straight away, with no confirmation. Suspends the member: they can no longer sign in or check in on goals. Their meeting capture and connected integrations (calendar and meeting bots, Granola, Slack, and the rest) stop too, and any meeting bots already scheduled on their calendar are cancelled, so a deactivated member never has the AI meeting agent join meetings on their behalf. History is preserved (their old check-ins stay attributed correctly), so deactivation is the right choice for offboarding.
- Reactivate user
- Restores their access, and resumes capture automatically, without anyone needing to reconnect.
Managing a member's job title and teams #
Click a member's entry in the Teams column (or ⋯ → Manage member) to open the Manage dialog, titled with their first name. Changes apply immediately; Done closes it. Changing a member's teams here is for org admins and owners; being a Team Admin does not add anything on this page.
- Job Title: a free-text field at the top of the dialog. Saves when you leave the field or press Enter; a checkmark confirms the save, and an inline error appears if it fails. Every member sees it, read-only, in the table. If your org syncs job titles from its directory, a note under the field says your edit is overwritten on the next sync.
- Add to a team: pick any team from the search box at the top; the member joins as a Team Member. Once they are on every team it reads 'Already in every team'.
- Change a team role: each team the member is in has a Team Member / Team Admin selector.
- Remove from a team: the ✕ on a row takes the member out of that team.
- Owner badge: a team the member also owns shows an Owner badge next to their membership role. Ownership is separate from membership: a team they own but aren't a member of can be added here like any other (transfer ownership itself on the team's page).
