A teammate's profile

One page per teammate: the goals they own, plus what they've recently made and said. Useful for prepping a 1:1 or catching up on someone's work.

core

How you get here #

  • Hover any teammate's avatar, name or @-mention anywhere in Brev to see their card: photo, name and job title. Click the card, or the avatar itself, to open their profile. Avatars inside pickers and menus select the person instead, and clicking the who's-viewing avatars on an artifact opens the list of viewers.
  • Expand the Goals group in the main sidebar and click My Goals to open your own profile.

What's on the page #

The header shows the teammate's photo beside their name and job title (or role), and the teams they own or are a member of as chips below (creating a team doesn't put it here); click a team to open its view, or the +N chip to see the rest. A teammate who hasn't accepted their invite yet, or whom an admin deactivated, has no profile page: their link says the profile isn't found, the same as a link to someone outside your organization. Under the header, two tabs: Goals (where the page opens) and Activity.

Add new and the ⋯ menu stay in the top right on both tabs on a computer. On Activity, Present in the menu switches to Goals and presents them.

Goals #

A goals view scoped to this person: the full tree of goals they own, with the same filters as the Organization view. Use Add new in the top right to create a goal.

Activity #

  • Activity: a table of their check-ins, comments on goals and artifacts, emoji reactions they left on check-ins and comments, and goals they created, newest first, each with its date. Each entry names the kind of thing acted on with its icon (a goal, metric, project or artifact), with its title on the line below: click a goal's title to open it in a side panel, or an artifact's title to open the artifact, and point at a title to preview it. Check-ins and comments show their reactions as read-only emoji chips; point at one to see who reacted, and react from the goal or the artifact. Filter it with the Check-ins, Comments, Goals or Reactions buttons, and scroll to the bottom of the table to load older entries. The heading and filters stay at the top as you scroll; on a phone each entry shows its date above it.
  • With nothing to show, the table reads 'You have no recent activity yet.' on your own profile and 'No activity you can see yet.' on a teammate's (with the Reactions filter, 'You have no reactions yet.' and 'No reactions you can see yet.'). Click All to clear a filter.
  • Check-ins Brev writes on its own (roll-ups and integration refreshes) are left out, so the feed shows what the person did.
You only see what you can already open
Every artifact, check-in and comment on a profile is one you could already open elsewhere in Brev. Anything else is left out completely: no placeholder, no count, no title. So a teammate's profile can look quieter to you than it does to them.

Editing your own info #

There's no in-page profile editor here. To change your name, profile picture, role or job title, click your avatar in the bottom-left of the sidebar and choose Settings, which opens Profile. Notification preferences are on Notifications.

Use this before every 1:1
Open your direct report's profile just before your 1:1. Their goals and the Activity tab's recent check-ins and comments are the most useful conversation starters you'll find anywhere in Brev.
