Summary
Connect Google Calendar or Microsoft 365 to activate Brev's Meeting Intelligence — automatic agenda prep, note capture, and action item extraction for every meeting.
Why Connect Your Calendar?
Your calendar is where your week lives. By connecting it to Brev, you unlock Meeting Intelligence — the feature that turns your WBRs, QBRs, and team syncs from manual prep sessions into automated, goal-connected meetings.
Once connected:
Brev sees your upcoming meetings
The Meeting Agent generates agendas from your active goals
The agent joins calls and takes notes
Action items are extracted automatically after each meeting
Meeting scores surface which meetings are actually productive
Supported Calendars
✅ Google Calendar (Google Workspace accounts)
✅ Microsoft 365 / Outlook Calendar
❌ iCloud / Apple Calendar (not currently supported)
Connecting Google Calendar
1. Go to Settings → Integrations.
2. Find Google Calendar and click Connect.
3. A Google OAuth window will open — sign in with your work Google account.
4. Review and grant the requested permissions:
View calendar events (so Brev can see meeting details)
Access Google Meet links (so the agent can join)
1. Click Allow.
2. You'll be redirected to Brev. Google Calendar will now show as Connected.
After connecting
Within a few minutes, Brev will scan your upcoming calendar for meetings in the next 7 days. Go to Meeting Intelligence to see them.
Connecting Microsoft 365 Calendar
1. Go to Settings → Integrations.
2. Find Microsoft 365 and click Connect.
3. Sign in with your Microsoft work account.
4. Grant the requested permissions.
5. Click Accept.
Brev will sync your Outlook calendar and enable the Microsoft Teams Meeting Agent.
Configuring How the Meeting Agent Joins
After your calendar is connected, choose how the agent joins meetings:
Auto-join — Brev automatically joins all eligible meetings. Best once you're comfortable with the feature.
Invite-only — You manually invite the Brev agent to specific meetings. Best for selective use.
Ask me each time — Brev sends you a prompt (via Slack or in-app) before each meeting. Good for getting started.
To set this: Settings → Meeting Intelligence → Agent Join Behavior.
Pro tip: Start with "Ask me each time" for the first week. Once you've seen a few meeting summaries and action item extractions, switch to Auto-join.
Excluding Meetings
Some meetings shouldn't have an AI notetaker. Configure exclusions:
1. Go to Settings → Meeting Intelligence → Exclusions.
2. Add keywords — any meeting with these words in the title will be excluded (e.g., "interview," "1:1 personal," "HR").
3. Or exclude specific recurring events manually.
⚠️ Note: The Brev agent is visible to all participants. Always exclude confidential meetings — board sessions, legal conversations, HR discussions.
What You'll See After Connecting
Meeting Intelligence in the left nav will show your upcoming meetings
Meetings with generated agendas show a 📋 badge
After your first meeting with the agent, you'll see notes, action items, and a meeting score within 5–10 minutes of the call ending
Troubleshooting
No meetings showing up after connecting Make sure you connected your work calendar, not a personal Gmail. Also check that your upcoming meetings are on the connected calendar, not a secondary calendar.
Getting a permissions error during OAuth Your Google Workspace admin may have restricted third-party access. Ask them to whitelist Brev in the Google Workspace Admin Console.
The agent didn't join Check your join behavior setting. If it's "Invite-only," you need to manually add the agent.
