Shared (org-wide) view

Admins can save a view for the entire org. It shows up in every member's sidebar (they view it like a preset); how each member orders or pins it in their own sidebar is personal.

core

A shared view is an org-wide saved configuration. Unlike a private custom view (visible only to you), a shared view shows up in every org member's sidebar so the whole org can open the same slice of goals. Where it sits in the sidebar, and whether it's pinned, is personal to each member.

Admins only
Saving, renaming, re-filtering, and deleting shared views is limited to org Admins and Owners. Everyone else can open and read a shared view exactly like a built-in preset, but sees no edit or delete controls. See Roles & permissions for role definitions.

Saving a view for the entire org #

  1. 1
    Adjust filters on any view
Open Organization (or another view) and set the filters you want, team, owner, time period, status, etc.
  2. 2
    Open the Save menu
Click Save in the filter row. It offers two options: Public (share with everyone in your org) or Private.
  3. 3
    Choose Public
Pick Public (admin-only, disabled for everyone else). The view is created org-wide with an auto-generated name and appears immediately in every member's sidebar. Choosing Private instead saves it to My Views, also auto-named, and opens the share dialog so you can pick specific people or teams to share it with.

Editing, deleting, and changing sharing #

  • Rename / re-filter: open the shared view and click its title to rename it, or change its filters and click Save ("Filter changes saved for everyone in your org."). These are the same controls owners get on a private view.
  • Delete: use the trash icon in the view header and confirm. Deletion removes it from every member's sidebar. If your admin role was removed after the page loaded, the delete is refused with "You no longer have permission to delete org-wide views." and the view stays.
  • Switch between private and org-wide: click Share in the view header, change 'General access', then click Save in the dialog. Choosing Anyone at <your org's name> promotes a private view to org-wide (admins only; the option is disabled for everyone else, with the tooltip 'Only admins can make a view org-wide'); choosing Invited users on an org-wide view demotes it back to a private view, at a new URL. The same dialog also lets any owner share a private view with specific people or teams without making it org-wide.
  • Reorder, pin, rename & delete: arranging the sidebar is personal: anyone can drag any view (in any section, including shared views) up and down, or press and hold one on a touch screen first. Hover a row and open its ⋯ menu to Pin it. Pinned views float to a group at the very top, each marked with a pin icon next to its ⋯ menu. Click that pin to unpin the view in one click, or use the menu. The same menu offers Rename and Delete for views you can manage (your own private views, or org-wide views if you're an admin). Your arrangement and pins are yours alone. They follow you across devices and don't change what anyone else sees.
Use a shared view to anchor org-wide rituals
A single shared view that everyone opens for the weekly business review keeps the whole org looking at the same goals, filters, and statuses.
