What you get with Linear
With Linear connected, Brev can use Linear as a source of truth for delivery work, including:
Linking Linear projects to Brev Projects and Metrics
Linear Progress Updates directly syncing to Brev Goals
Keeping project progress/context up to date based on what’s happening in Linear
Improving AI summaries/insights by grounding them in real execution signals
Full visibility and alignment of execution work in one place
Connect Linear
Go to Integrations
Find Linear and click Connect
Authenticate with Linear and approve permissions
Select the correct Linear workspace (if prompted)
Connect Linear to a Metric Directly
Create a Metric, select Auto-track, and select Linear
Authenticate with Linear and approve permissions, and select the project you would like to integrate into
Scope into the selected project and determine what you would like to track.
Determine how you would like to track progress. You can choose:
# of issues completed
% of issues completed
# of tasks completed
% of issues completed
Click Save and complete any other fields in the metric dialogue.
Success check: Linear shows as Connected in the metric and appended to the creation dialogue.
Viewing and refreshing your metric
A Linear icon will appear on the goal showing the connected project. You can hover to see more details, and click to refresh the data.
Note: Brev will sync with Linear on a regular cadence, but you can always force a refresh.
Connect Linear to a Project Directly
Create a Project, select Auto-track, and select Linear
Follow the same steps as above. Within Projects, you can see the issues pulled into the details view on the right.
You can always refresh your data — issues, progress, and status will all reflect the updates whenever there is a change.
Project Status Updates in Linear → Brev
Inside Linear, using their 'Updates' feature (feature details found here), when a user shares an update, Brev will automatically track that against the connected Project or Metric.
