Tagging Goals

Add tags to goals to group them by theme — corporate priorities, or cross-cutting lenses like "Growth" and "Efficiency" — then filter by them across teams.

What goal tags are

Tags are lightweight labels you add to goals to group and find them — independent of team or time period. They cut across your hierarchy, so you can see every goal that shares a theme no matter who owns it.

What to use them for

  • Corporate themes — tag the goals that ladder up to a company-wide priority or strategic theme, so leadership can see the whole picture in one view.

  • Cross-cutting lenses — append tags like Growth or Efficiency to keep the intent of a goal front of mind, and to pull together everything pointed at that outcome.

How to add a tag to a goal

  1. Open the goal.

  2. Add a tag — start typing to reuse an existing tag, or create a new one on the spot.

  3. Add as many as apply; a goal can carry more than one tag.

Find goals by tag

Once goals are tagged, filter the Goals view by tag to pull up everything under a theme — e.g., every goal tagged Efficiency across the company. It's the fastest way to report on a theme that doesn't map to a single team.

Keeping tags tidy

Tags are shared across your organization, so a little consistency goes a long way. Reuse existing tags rather than creating near-duplicates (e.g., pick Growth, not also growth-2026), and prune ones you no longer use.
