Goals View AI Summary

The AI Summary in the Goals view gives you an instant, executive-ready readout of progress across a team and time period—without digging through every goal.

Summary

The Goals View AI Summary gives you a natural-language snapshot of your team's goal landscape — what's going well, what's at risk, and where to focus attention — without reading through every individual goal.

What the AI Summary Does

The Goals View AI Summary is a generated paragraph (or a few) that reads your visible goal set and produces a plain-English narrative. It's the "executive briefing" version of your Goals view.

Instead of: scanning 20 goals, reading status badges, trying to piece together a picture. You get: "Your team has 8 active goals this quarter. 5 are on track, 2 are at risk — primarily Revenue and NPS — and 1 (the enterprise launch milestone) is off track and overdue. Three goals haven't been updated in more than two weeks."

That's the entire Goals view, summarized in seconds.

Where to Find It

1. Navigate to Goals or any View in the sidebar navigation.

2. Click the AI Summary button in the top-right of the Goals view (looks like a sparkle or robot icon).

3. The summary panel opens on the right side of the screen.

The summary reflects whatever goals are currently visible based on your active filters. Change your filter, and the summary updates.

What the Summary Includes

A typical AI Summary covers:

  • Executive Summary

  • Outcomes

  • Progress

  • Risks and Blockers

The content will be specific to the View the Summary is located on - (ie. Company, team, etc.)

Using the Summary Effectively

Before a leadership meeting

Filter to company-level goals and generate a summary. Use it as your brief before walking the team through the KPI Dashboard. No slide deck needed.

For team lead reporting

Filter to your team's goals, generate a summary, and paste it into your weekly update. It's faster than writing it from scratch and always grounded in actual data.

For cross-team reviews

Apply no filters, run the full summary, and use it as the opening for your QBR or all-hands strategy update.

Pro tip: When you generate a summary before a meeting, don't just read it — react to it. Paste it into Slack or your meeting doc and ask: "Does this match what we're experiencing? What's missing?" The conversation it starts is often more valuable than the summary itself.

Copying and Sharing the Summary

From the summary panel:

  • Copy text — Paste into Slack, email, or a doc.

  • Share link — Generates a link to the current Goals view with summary pre-loaded (for Brev users).

  • Share to Slack — set it on a recurring share to any channel

  • Export to PDF — Includes the summary + the goals list for offline sharing.

Summary Prompt Recipes

From the summary panel:

  • Select the recipes button

  • Team Admins, Team Owners, Org Admins, and Org Owners

⚠️ Note: If your goals have low update frequency, the AI Summary will reflect that uncertainty. The first step to better summaries is better check-in habits.
