Writing Quality OKRs and Goals

Brev’s Goal Coach helps you write clear, measurable OKRs fast—without starting from a blank page. It uses auto-complete suggestions (clickable Goals, Metrics/Key Results, and Projects) to pre-fill fields for you, tailored to your company and your role.

What Goal Coach does

  • Suggests well-formed Goals (clear outcomes)

  • Suggests Metrics / Key Results (measurable targets)

  • Suggests Projects (the work that drives the goal)

  • Auto-fills fields when you click a suggestion

  • Tailors everything using your Company Memory and your role details

What “quality” looks like

A quality OKR/goal in Brev has:

  • Outcome-focused goal (what changes, not what you’ll do)

  • At least 1 metric/key result with a clear target

  • Projects that explain how you’ll get there

  • Clear ownership and a defined time period

Tips for better goals

  • Keep goals ambitious but realistic for the time period

  • Prefer metrics with a baseline + target (not vague “improve”)

  • Use 3–5 metrics per goal (enough to measure, not overwhelm)

  • Add Projects only if they’re real initiatives you plan to run

Success check: When you open a goal, it’s obvious (1) what you’re trying to achieve, (2) how it will be measured, and (3) what work will drive it.
