How alignment works
A goal can be a parent or a child
You can create as many levels as you need (parent, child, grandchild, etc.)
When a child’s goal progress changes, Brev automatically updates the parent goal (progress rollup).
Align a goal to a parent
Open the goal you want to align
In the goal dialog, click Parent
Select the parent goal
Select Create
What happens next
The goal appears in the goal tree
Parent goals automatically reflect progress from their child's goals
Progress roll-up can be configured to Children (calculated from child goals), Integration Refresh (from connected integrations), or Manual Only.
Success check: You can see the relationship in the goal tree, and parent goal progress updates as child goals move.
Multiple alignment (one goal, two parents)
Advanced Feature: Goals support multiple alignment, meaning a single child goal can align to two parent goals.
When that happens:
The child goal will show up in both teams’ dashboards
It will appear in both parents’ goal trees
Progress updates will roll up to both parent goals
Caution: Use the Multiple Alignment feature sparingly - if everything aligns to everything, it will dilute accountability and focus.
