What's new

Released Oct 19, 2026 · v5.18.14 · Shared by Founding Team

Private meeting chat, and notifications you can scan at a glance

Brev now redacts sensitive details in meeting chat before anyone reads it or AI uses it, and your notifications show what is unread at a glance.

New

  • Meeting chat gets the same privacy as the transcript. Contact details, pay figures and other sensitive remarks typed in a meeting's chat are redacted for everyone on the Transcript tab, and before the summary, chapters and effectiveness score are written. A message Brev can't redact is left out rather than shown.

Improved

  • Notifications open beside the bell, and unread ones show in bold so you can see what's new without opening each one.
  • Activity on teammate profiles shows each item as a card, and its title opens the goal or artifact it's about.
  • AI usage in Settings shows how much of your credit pool is left, with a breakdown by member for admins.
  • Goal insights load faster.
  • Help articles show screenshots of each section, and links to help.brev.io unfurl with a branded preview.
  • When connecting the Slack app fails, Brev shows Slack's own reason instead of a generic error.
  • Cleaner @mentions and better-aligned close buttons on info banners.

Fixed

  • Org admins couldn't open the Slack app's auto-join setting once Slack was connected.
