What a recipe does
A Prompt Recipe controls how Brev writes a view's digest sections — the voice, the level of detail, and what it should or shouldn't say. Set it once and it shapes every digest for that view going forward. Changes apply from the next generation.
Open the recipe
From a view's digest, click Adjust recipe (or the Edit generation recipe icon on a summary). The Prompt Recipe panel opens with a live preview on the right.
Write the prompt
Use the prompt field to tell Brev how to write — in plain language, up to 2,000 characters. For example:
"Lead with customer-facing outcomes. Keep each section to 3 bullets. Don't mention internal project codenames."
Advanced options
Fine-tune with one-click settings:
Tone — Default, Direct, Encouraging, or Formal.
Audience— Default, company-wide, your team or leadership.
Length — Default, Brief, Standard, or Detailed.
Preview before you save
Pick a Preview section — Summary, Highlights, Blockers, or Tactics — and click Try prompt to see exactly how that section will read with your recipe applied. Adjust until it's right.
Save
Click Save. Your recipe takes effect the next time Brev generates the digest for this view.
